How do I start charging at a ChargeIn station?

You can start charging in three ways: via the ChargeIn Go app, an RFID card, or – depending on the station – directly via the terminal.

What should I do before starting charging?

Before starting a charging session, make sure the station is ready for use:

the station is powered on and active

no error messages are displayed on the screen or panel

there is no information about a failure or shutdown

the cable and connector are not damaged or blocked

Do I need to start charging before plugging in the cable?

Yes – at most ChargeIn stations the rule is: start the session first, then connect the vehicle.

What payment methods are available?

You can pay for charging by payment card (debit or credit), Apple Pay, or Google Pay – without the need to top up your account in advance.

Are funds reserved on my account during charging?

Yes, the system may temporarily block a certain amount to secure the transaction. After the session ends, only the actual energy consumption is charged, and the remaining funds are released back to your account.

Why do I see a funds hold after an unsuccessful charging attempt?

In case of an unsuccessful charging start (e.g. connection error, interrupted process, or technical issue), a pre-authorization hold may be placed on your account. This is not a payment – the hold will be automatically released. The release time depends on your bank and may take up to 14 business days.

Can I check my charging history?

Yes, in the ChargeIn Go app you have access to your full session history, energy consumption, and transaction details. This allows you to easily track your charging costs.

Can I use ChargeIn without the app?

In many cases, yes – you can use an RFID card or a payment terminal.

If problems occur, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, clear the cache, or reinstall the app. Also make sure your phone system is up to date and that login data and SMS messages are working correctly.

Where can I find the list of ChargeIn stations?

The list of ChargeIn charging stations is availableWe also regularly publish updates about newly launched stations on www.chargein.com and our social media channels.

Why didn’t charging start or why was it interrupted?

The most common reasons are:

communication issue between the car and the station

too long delay in connecting the cable after starting the session

  • temporary technical error

Why can’t I unplug the cable after charging?

In this case, try ending the session/unlocking the cable directly from the car. If the session has ended correctly, the vehicle has likely locked the connector.
